Beijing weather

Hot and humid summers, with temperature reaching 30-40°C (from may to august). Cloudy sky, al lot of rain. Strong winters (from november to march), but also dry, during which the temporature drops bellow 0°C, with lows to -10-20°C when the wind blows. Clear blue sky, sunny weather.

Two seasons in between, nice but short, characterized by an explosion in the spring (not long after the Chinese new year) and a fast winter arrival (corresponding to the white vegetable harvest).

The Beijing area is arid, with low rainfalls all of the year ; it's not rare that no drop of water falls during several month, between the end of the fall and the beginning of the spring. Beijing enjoy sunchine and also is short of water sometimes, even if there are water reserves aounrd the city (lake of Miyun, lake of Shisanling..). Saving measures are regularly implemented during the summer, which aim to limit water comsumption by industrials or even inhabitants.
